About
WW2 Roll of Honour is about how World War Two impacted on Hastings and St Leonards and its residents.
The website will contain information about civilians and service personnel from the town that lost their lives during the war. It will also provide information about the German bombing raids that affected the town during the years 1939 to 1945. Finally it will feature photographs of the town and where these events took place.
I hope that it will develop into a permanent online memorial to those lost, and as a research database for anyone interested in the town, its history and the people that lived here.
WW2 Roll of Honour aims to provide an accurate record of individuals and events. The information I have used comes from reference books and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
Who is behind this website?
My name is Kieron Pelling. I created the website WW1 Roll of Honour, which has over 5,300 photographs of men and women from Hastings, St Leonards and the surrounding area who did service in the Great War. The bulk of the work on that website has been completed, so it seemed natural to begin a similar project about the town during WW2.
