Name: William Francis Brown
Wounded on: Monday, 30th September 1940
Wounded at: Plaza Cinema, Cambridge Road, Hastings
Additional Information: William Brown, aged 54, was wounded when a single bomber dropped one HE bomb that hit the Plaza Cinema on Robertson Street, Hastings. William was in Cambridge Road nearby. He died on 1st October 1940 at Royal East Sussex Hospital. Thirteen other people were killed and thirty five injured, twelve seriously.
William was the son of Mr & Mrs W E Brown, and a member of A.M.I.E.E. I was unable to locate William’s grave marker in the main area of WW2 war graves, so he is likely buried else where on site. I will look to find it when I revisit Hastings Cemetery.
