Additional Information: Annie Payne, aged 72, was killed when a lone bomber dropped 12 HE bombs on the Bedford Public House, Queens Road, Milward Road, Wellington Road, Cricket Ground, Stonefield Road and Wallinger’s Walk. Eight people were killed in the raid with a further nine injured, eight seriously.
Annie was married to George Payne and lived at 232 Priory Road.
