Additional Information: Deirdre Battersby, aged 2, was killed when four ME 109’s strafed and bombed Emmanuel Vicarage, Vicarage Road, Emmanuel Road, Barley Lane, Middle Road, The Broadway and Oakfield Road. Four others were killed in the raid, with 35 others injured, 12 seriously.
Deirdre was the daughter of Revd & Mrs Jason Battersby and lived at the Emmanuel Church Vicarage in Vicarage Road, Hastings.
