Amiss, William Sidney

Hastings Cemetery

Name: William Sidney Amiss

Wounded on: Tuesday, 29th October 1940

Wounded at: 28 Linton Road, Hastings

Additional Information: William Amiss, aged 55, was wounded when a lone Dornier bomber dropped 2 bombs on Linton Road. Two others were wounded in the raid.

William was wounded near his home at 28 Linton Road, Hastings and died on the 31st October at Royal East Sussex Hospital. Married to Rosa May Amiss, he was a member of the Home Guard.

I was unable to locate William’s grave marker in the main area of WW2 war graves, so he is likely buried else where on site. I will look to find it when I revisit Hastings Cemetery.
