Additional Information: Jane Bumstead, aged 82, died when an unknown number of bombers dropped 150 incendiaries on Clive Vale, including on Alfred Road and Edmund Road. One other person was killed in the raid.
Jane Bumstead, and her nephew William Dowding who was killed in the same raid, are remembered on the same grave located in Hastings Cemetery in area BD D09.
