Bourn, Richard Reeve

Hastings Cemetery

Name: Richard Reeve Bourn

Died on: Saturday, 5th October 1940

Died at: Wellington Road, Hastings

Additional Information: Richard Bourn, aged 71, was killed when a lone bomber dropped 12 HE bombs on the Bedford Arms Hotel, Queens Road, Milward Road, Wellington Road, Cricket Ground, Stonefield Road and Wallinger’s Walk. Eight people were killed in the raid with a further nine injured, eight seriously.

I was unable to locate Richard’s grave marker in the main area of WW2 war graves, so he is likely buried else where on site. I will look to find it when I revisit Hastings Cemetery.
