Additional Information: Caroline Cox, aged 73, was killed when four ME 109’s strafed and bombed Emmanuel Vicarage, Vicarage Road, Emmanuel Road, Barley Lane, Middle Road, The Broadway and Oakfield Road. Four others were killed in the raid, with 35 others injured, 12 seriously.
Caroline was the sister of Sarah Cox and lived at 24 The Broadway, Ore.
I was unable to locate Caroline’s grave marker in the main area of WW2 war graves, so she is likely buried else where on site. I will look to find it when I revisit Hastings Cemetery.
