Additional Information: Constance Torrance, aged 28, was killed when four fighter bombers dropped HE bombs on Havelock Road, Middle Street and Falaise Road. Constance died at St George’s Road in an area not known to have been bombed, so she possibly might have been a victim of machine gun fire. One other person was killed in the raid with 10 others wounded, two seriously.
Constance, married to Jack Torrance, was the daughter of R Beale. She lived at 60 St Georges Road.
